What is Youth Engineering Scunthorpe?

Youth Engineering Scunthorpe (YES) is a community interest company, which was set up under the charity, Youth Engineering Project. The primary objective of YES is to provide support to people aged 18 and 30 that are struggling to get on the employment ladder, by equipping them with the skills required to enter full time employment. Whilst with us, the trainees gain training and experience in manufacturing, engineering, and/or administration.

To enable us to provide this training and work experience, we design and produce a wide range of metal components, parts and sub-assemblies. This allows the trainees to learn and develop many skills, processes and techniques. Therefore, our secondary objective is to ensure that there is a continuous pipeline of incoming work to fund the charitable enterprise, and to provide trainees with a wage and the ability to gain experience.

Passionate about helping people & businesses

Since YES was founded in 2015, we have helped over 50 people to find full-time work, won several awards, and forged excellent relationships with organisations and businesses within the North Lincolnshire region. All profits are reinvested back into Youth Engineering Project, and we hope to roll this programme out to other towns in the region.
