Who are Youth Engineering?

Youth Engineering is a start-up Community Interest Company (CIC) primarily to provide employment in Scunthorpe for 18-24 year olds who are currently unemployed and struggling to get on the employment ladder. Our main objective is to equip disadvantaged young people with the skills to enter full time employment, within about 12 months from the start of their employment at Youth Engineering Scunthorpe.

We specialise in component manufacture and the assembly of parts and sub-assemblies; which requires young people to learn many skills, processes and techniques.

Our aim is to provide ready made candidates who can take up full time roles in other companies and go on to have long and successful careers.

Our young people will receive education and training whilst employed by Youth Engineering. They will learn skills and gain experience that are valuable to employers and undertake NVQ qualifications where applicable. All profits will be reinvested back in the business and it is anticipated that the model once successful, will be rolled out to other towns in the Lincolnshire region.

Could your organisation help?

We are looking for employers to could take on our apprentices or trainees once they have completed their training with us, customers to purchase the components we manufacture and also charitable organisations to provide us with access to suitable apprentices.
